Shine Learning Center tutor clients range from Kindergarten to College.
Shine Learning Center prepares students to take the SAT, SAT Subject Test, ACT, GRE, GMAT, GED, and we provide tutoring for Advanced Placement tests.
Large, national franchises offer wonderful services that are scalable. That means their systems are designed to meet the needs of students across a broad spectrum, similar to how a classroom curriculum is created.
On the other hand Shine Learning Center started in the Rio Grande Valley. We tailor our courses to exactly meet the needs of our clients and are not constrained by superfluous franchise requirements. Our tutors develop a curriculum that is specific to your child’s needs; they do not follow a generic course outline. Our teacher to student ratio is 1 to 3. With three being the maximum number students, we tutor at one time. Shine Learning Center’s growth is based upon our reputation and wonderful success stories achieved everyday.
Shine Learning Center is currently offering the lowest rates in the Rio Grande Valley. Please visit our Tutoring Rates & Plans page for program costs.
We do require clients to sign up for a minimum of four sessions, but there is no long-term commitment required. If the client is not satisfied with their child’s progress, then please contact Shine Learning Center.
You will have the opportunity to meet and evaluate the tutor during the first trial session. The first tutoring session is partially committed to building rapport with the student; however, we begin one-on-one instruction during the first session. The parent, tutor, and student are usually present for the first session. After each session, the tutor will speak to the client about their child’s progress.
You will pay Shine Learning Center in advance of receiving tutoring services. You may use whatever payment method is most convenient for you. (cash, credit card, check, and gift certificate are available)
The answer to this question depends on how quickly you would like your child to catch up. We normally recommend a minimum of two hours a week for each student being tutored. Anything less than two hours has proven to be ineffective as consistency and student focus is difficult to establish. If a student is a full grade level behind, we recommend 3 to 4 hours of tutoring a week.
